Thought of by many as the mother vineyard for the Sauvignon Blanc in the AVA, McGinley was the first to be planted in 1996. (And Seth Kunin was the first winemaker to try his hand here.) Bordeaux varieties shine in these iron and serpentine rich soils, perhaps none so much as McGinley Sauvignon Blanc. Our 2022 wine is a stunner - racy and expressive with rich layers and aromas of passionfruit, lemongrass, dandelion and tropical fruit. This pretty white holds its place easily next to the wines of Sancerre and Marlborough
Antonio Galloni Vinous – 93 Pts The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc McGinley Vineyard is rich and ample, with a real sense of structure that amplifies varietal character. Lemon confit, sage, tomato leaf and menthol add nuance, but it is the wine's density that stands out most.
