The 2019 Pape Star Blonde is straight-up impressive and reminds me of a great Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc. A blend of 80% Grenache Blanc and 20% Roussanne, it has ripe quince and pineapple fruits, some honeyed herb and toasty notes, medium body, and a layered, textured, yet light-on-its-feet style on the palate that's going to shine on the dinner table. 94 Pts Jeb Dunnuck
Nothing other than grapes were added or used in its creation. The wild yeasts that were on the skins completed the fermentation and the anti-oxidants in the skins and seeds provided all the protection necessary during elevage and bottling. No sulfur was added to this wine at any time, nor was it fined or filtered prior to bottling.
This vintage delivered a silky wine with an exotic nose of white flowers, almost saline minerality and rich viscosity. Open the bottle and you will find a red wine lover’s white wine – textured, complex and cellar worthy.
Our 2022 was fermented in neutral oak and racked off of its lees immediately after primary fermentation to prevent it from becoming too rich. It finished its élevage in the same neutral barrels, but without the lees, preserving its latent minerality and crisp acid. We love this wine with most seafood – scallops, shrimp and especially oysters!
Antonio Galloni Vinous – 93 Pts The 2022 Chenin Blanc Jurassic Park is a wine of notable distinction and class. Bright acids cut through a core of lemon confit, white flowers, mint, white pepper and chamomile. Taut and nervy, the 2022 has so much to offer. Chenin on own-rooted vines is so distinctive here.
This wine is crisp and clean with subtle watermelon flavors, ripe peach, pink flowers and a soft mouth feel. With an alcohol of just 13.0% and plenty of acidity, the wine is easy drinking and very food friendly.
Our 2022 wine is a stunner - racy and expressive with rich layers and aromas of passionfruit, lemongrass, dandelion and tropical fruit. This pretty white holds its place easily next to the wines of Sancerre and Marlborough.
Antonio Galloni Vinous – 93 Pts The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc McGinley Vineyard is rich and ample, with a real sense of structure that amplifies varietal character. Lemon confit, sage, tomato leaf and menthol add nuance, but it is the wine's density that stands out most.
This vintage delivered a tremendously pretty wine with an exotic nose of white flowers, almost saline minerality and rich mouth feel. Open the bottle and you will find a red wine lover’s white wine – textured, complex and cellar worthy. Our 2022 is leaner than other vintages. It is a rare white that will actually reward aging. Time with air in the glass will show the true character.
