2018 Cinsault, Camp 4 Vineyard
92 Points: "The 2018 Cinsault Camp Four Vineyard is a very pretty wine. Bright floral crushed flowers, raspberry and dried leather nicely lift to match its savory, mid-weight personality. This is very nicely done. The 2018 is understated, classy and flat out delicious." – Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
91 points: "reminiscent of Beaujolais and enjoyable right out of the gate ... the light to medium-bodied palate is soft and bright with crunchy, perfumed fruits and a long, lifted finish." – Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
2018 Counoise, Camp 4 Vineyard
Originally brought to southern France’s Châteauneuf-du-Pape region in the mid-14th century by monks from Spain, this grape has been a small but notable addition to many of the region’s blends ever since. Counoise’s bold, almost candied, fruit and spice help balance the darker and more tannic Syrah and Mourvedre that make up most of most Châteauneuf-du-Pape blends. Given the right conditions – soil, site, and vintage – the grape can also make a beautiful stand-alone wine, which is precisely what we have here. Strawberry and raspberry dominate the palate of this licorice and anise-scented charmer. A pleasant earthy note rounds out the finish. It is super-friendly with all manner of foods. This Counoise is a summer-weight red. Enjoy with a slight chill.
